Amanda is an experienced and professional private music instructor located in Chicago, IL. She has been teaching privately for over 16 years in addition to a position she held for 5 years as music instructor with Messmer Catholic Schools (2012 Educator of the Year), Milwaukee Sign Language School and Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC). She currently teaches music at Jose Clemente Orozco Amanda graduated with her BS in Music Education from Central Michigan University in 2008. She directed two fiddle ensembles, one youth ensemble and one adult ensemble (Strings Across the Valley), while in Michigan. Amanda lead Strings Across the Valley to perform at nursing homes, in recitals and most memorably, in Tawas, MI as guest performers at their Tawas Days festival. Amanda approaches each student as an individual meeting their specific learning needs. She uses a variety of methods including Suzuki, folk/fiddling and jazz/improvisation.
Amanda is accepting students of all levels interested in learning and advancing on violin or viola. She is also accepting beginning students in guitar, ukelele, piano and mandolin. Amanda also offers individual or small group tutoring in music theory.
