Project 2: Middle School

Create a Garageband project:  Empty project

Find a short poem online that you like (or a section of a longer poem)

Record the poem

click create new track (select the microphone)

Push the Red circle to begin recording

Cut the audio file any place you like by putter the curser line where you want to split the clip

press command T

To copy-select the section you want to copy and hold command C

To paste-place the curser where you want to paste and hold command V

Add a vocal effect to your recording

select the track and go to the left half of the screen and click voice

choose the vocal sound you want to use

Add automation (either echo, volume, reverb, your choice)

when you click the automation button a yellow line will appear on the track.  Under the volume button a drop down menu will appear and you can choose what you want to automate.
