OneLove: "Higher Ground" ft. Ace da Vinci and Cider Provider!

7006 N Glenwood Ave, Chicago, IL 60626-2803, United States

We are THRILLED to announce the first ever OneLove residency: “OneLove @ The Heartland!” Starting in January, Adam Gottlieb & OneLove will host a monthly event at the Heartland Cafe’s music venue (7006 N. Glenwood Ave),

Our first event will be: OneLove: “Higher Ground” ft. Ace da Vinci and Cider Provider! For the kick-off show we are GEEKED to bring out Chicago hip hop artist Ace da Vinci as our featured act, and local social justice pop band Cider Provider for our Roger’s Park spotlight!

The event name and theme of the night comes from Stevie Wonder’s classic song which is an appropriate dance song for a New Year’s party. In honor of another “revolution” around the sun, we will bravely dance and sing in the face of overwhelming injustice and oppression, collectively reaching for “Higher Ground” as we enter the new year.

The format for the show will be:
8:00 Theme Song (“Ode”) and Opening Ceremonies
8:15 Cider Provider (our Rogers Park Artist Spotlight)
8:45 OneLove Set #1
9:30 Ace da Vinci (our Featured Artist)
10:30 OneLove Set #2 and "Jam" (musicians/artists welcome to join from audience!)

Will be finished by 11 or 11:30 at the latest. It’s a Thursday, after all.

Come and help us kick-off what we intend to become a truly unique event series with this extraordinary first show!

Our first monthly residency, “OneLove @ The Heartland”, will showcase a featured artist of the month as well as a Rogers Park neighborhood “spotlight feature,” in addition to two danceable sets from OneLove, your friendly neighborhood social justice band! Each month will have a special theme to guide the evening and honor specific intentions throughout the year. Every month we will name the show after a cover song that reveals something about the theme, and which we intend to play at some point before the night is over! The show will always run from 8-11pm for just $5! And the age limit is 18+! Yes YES, y’all!!

So save the first three dates: Jan 18, Feb 22, and March 22!

Our featured artists for the 18th:

Ace da Vinci, Chi-Town MC & producer, began developing his craft at the age of 16. As the creator of SmartMouf Ent, da Vinci is already establishing a sound in Hip-Hop that is incomparable, with impeccable lyricism marked by depth, substance, and vulnerability. His album Seven Day High is available on Spotify.

Cider Provider is a new band in town led by up-and-coming singer-songwriter Jed Lickerman, who has already released one full album, “Nitemare in Driemland,” in the summer of 2017. With impressively precise musicianship, catchy hooks, unconventional song structures, and biting political lyrics, “Cider Provider” poses a formidable threat to the often mild-mannered nature of pop music.

Adam Gottlieb, from the Chicago youth spoken word poetry and hip hop movement, now writes primarily in the form of songs, brought to life by the incredible band OneLove, made up of Noah Silver-Mathews (bass), Tony Mest (drums/percussion), and Amanda Suckow (violin/mandolin/vocals). The band's mission is to unite people around the movement for a new, more just world, using music that expresses the revolutionary spirit of our times.
